EXOCARB

The name Exocarb  comes from the prefix exo meaning external and carb short for carbon.

The symbol   is called an Ouroboros.  It translates as “tail eating”  It is an ancient symbol which represents the perpetual cycle of life, death and rebirth.  We use this symbol to represent the carbon cycle.

Our basic premise is that carbon in itself is not something bad.  Its just we should not overload the ecosystem with carbon taken from the subsurface.  We can insert ourselves into the carbon cycle and use the available carbon that is already above the surface of the earth for our fuel / energy storage needs.

Solar and wind energy are great but they have a problem in that they are not always available.  We need power 24 hours a day 7 days a week. It is helpful that wind and solar energy are mainly produced during peak demand times but we must still have energy during the off peak. We do not currently have any large scale storage capabilities or any practical emerging technologies that could handle the vast amounts of energy that would need to be stored  even if we had enough wind and solar available.  We see biomass/biocarbon as filling the baseload needs as well as providing carbon neutral fuels.
